Australian Dental Journal marks significant milestone
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the
Australian Dental Journal, the official journal of the Australian Dental Association.
Now recognised as one of the top 50 dental publications in the world, according to ISI Journal Citation Reports, the Journal has grown from a small regional publication into a well-recognised international journal under the guiding hand of talented long-term editor Prof. Mark Bartold.
In line with this increased exposure, much of it attributable to the international reach of publishing partner Wiley Blackwell Publishing which also assists with manuscripts review, the Journal has experienced an upsurge in interest from researchers with 745 paper submissions from 55 countries received in 2015.
The mounting demand for publication has been reflected in the physical size of the Journal, which is published in March, June, September and December each year, and in its presence online with 423,850 articles downloaded from the official website in the last year alone.

Online publishing has also meant that papers which might typically have to wait 9-12 months to feature in the physical version of the Journal, can now be accessed almost immediately, a boon for those wanting to keep up to date with the latest dental research.
